ALDI Ireland had a great morning today at the opening of our new store in Cabra, Co. Dublin. The new store, opened today by Store Manager Jamie Stephens and his team, features ALDI’s award-winning format and has created up to 30 new permanent jobs in the local area. The €2.8 million store is ALDI’s 26th in the county and has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, powered by 100% green electricity and featuring solar panels on the roof of the store. ALDI Ireland had a great morning last week at the opening of our new store in Adamstown, Co. Dublin. The award-winning store format is ALDI’s 25th in the county and has created up to 30 new permanent jobs in the local area. The new store comes shortly after ALDI announced an ambitious plan to expand its store network in Dublin to include €73 million investment in 11 new stores in the county over the next five years. To date, we have distributed over €535,000 through the programme, and will be donating a further €80,000 worth of bursary grants in 2023. ALDI Ireland is pleased to announce the nationwide launch of its new partnership with Too Good To Go, making it the first Irish supermarket to partner with the food surplus app in a bid to tackle food waste and offer even lower prices to customers. The surplus food bags, known as ‘Surprise Bags’, will contain a range of products that are approaching their sell-by or use-by dates at a third of the price, costing just €3.99 each to purchase. To get a Surprise Bag, shoppers can download the free Too Good To Go app and search for their nearby ALDI store before reserving a bag to collect from the store at an allotted time.
