Great news - ALDI has been shortlisted in the ‘Excellence in Mental Health and Workplace Wellbeing’ category at the Workplace Excellence Awards 2024! This recognition is testament to our ongoing dedication to improving mental health awareness and support, including through the introduction of a ‘Supporting Mental Wellness’ programme for colleagues to our partnership with our mental health charity partner Aware. ALDI Ireland has today launched our 2024 Community Grants programme. Giving back to the communities we serve has always been a hugely important part of what we do. Since 2016, ALDI’s Community Grants programme has donated €620,500 to over 1,000 organisations. ALDI is calling on charities and community organisations to nominate themselves for a €500 ALDI gift card by visiting their local ALDI store. For 2024, to mark our 25th anniversary in Ireland, we will also be selecting 26 charities or community groups, one per county, to receive an additional donation of €2,000 worth of ALDI gift cards. In total, ALDI’s Community Grants Programme for 2024 will see €137,500 worth of donations presented to charitable organisations across Ireland that contribute vital work and services to local communities.

We are delighted to announce that Cork-based business, The Sibly Food Co., have signed a twelve-month deal worth €1m to supply it’s healthy, hunger busting energy balls to 161 ALDI stores nationwide! Entrepreneur Matthew Collins started his relationship with ALDI back in 2022 when he applied for the Grow with ALDI programme. He was selected as one of five winners for the supplier development programme and was mentored by ALDI as he scaled his production to have his products stocked in ALDI stores nationwide. Since then, The Sibly Food Co. has supplied ALDI with its fan favourite range of handmade energy balls in delicious flavours and won a silver medal at the Blas na hÉireann Awards.

ALDI's new store in Carrigaline, Co. Cork opened today, creating 30 new permanent jobs. It continues ALDI's nationwide expansion and represents an investment of over €10 million in the local area. Located on Old Pottery Road, the store becomes ALDI's 27th store in Cork and 161st store nationwide. It was officially opened by the local team, Store Manager, Jason Murphy and ALDI Play Rugby Ambassador, Paul O'Connell. #ALDI #Retail #Carrigaline
