We’re proud to announce a €5 million investment in energy-efficient solutions through a two-year solar retrofit programme, a major step forward in our sustainability journey🔋☀️ In partnership with Greenvolt Next Ireland, we will install solar panels at 44 ALDI stores across the country by the end of 2026. Great news for Waterford shoppers! This morning, ALDI officially opened its new store at City Square Shopping Centre in Waterford City! This new and improved ALDI store replaces ALDI’s store at The Glen, which was ALDI’s very first store in the Waterford in 2006. ALDI Ireland has announced enhanced pay and benefits for its employees, including a pay increase for all colleagues paid on an hourly basis, with effect from 1 February. As well as being Ireland’s best value retailer, ALDI has been a market leader on pay in the sector for many years, with rates increasing by 23% over the last four years. We’ve been committed to paying the living wage at a minimum to all colleagues since 2018. This pay increase means the minimum hourly pay rate at ALDI’s 163 stores, and two distribution centres will be €15.10 per hour, with additional increments after one, two and three years of service. ALDI has also rolled out 12-week neonatal care leave, and enhanced maternity and paternity leave, reinforcing ALDI’s commitment to supporting our people. #LivingWage #PayIncrease
