The interview process was an extremely protracted affair taking more than 3 months to complete. The initial Oracle HR recruiter left the company; the replacement recruiter was unprepared for her role and was even late to the initial screening interview. A series of 6, one-hour technical and behavioral interviews ensued.
Subsequent interview panelists were also late to their meetings, citing an overwhelming backlog while trying to apologize for their unprofessionalism. In one setting and after expressing my solid understanding of the role and its requirements, the hiring manager confirmed my understanding of the position and then asked incredulously "... are you SURE you want this job?".
After a two-week quiet period, I followed up via email with yet a third and final HR recruiter. He responded via phone and apologized profusely for the time its taken to get back with me - citing more mechanical platitudes. I was offered a non-negotiable position with Oracle, but at a lower job classification and reduced pay scale than was advertised, applied for, or what interviewed against.
Overall my experience with Oracle was unprofessional, disorganized and exuded crisis management at its finest.
