The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Microsoft (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2011
Interview
On campus information session. After a few days, they e-mail an offer to interview on campus in Seattle. They ask you to read a book 'breaking code' for the interview. The most important topic to prepare well for clearing the interview is Data Structures. There will be 5 rounds of interview in a single day 9am to 5pm. If you do not do well in a particular interview, you will not be called for the next round. Most of the people get dropped in 3rd round. If you are called for all the 5 rounds, you will get the job.
Expect technical deep dives, coding challenges, and problem-solving scenarios. Questions will probe your knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design, assessing your ability to build robust systems. yes yus yes
