I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft (Dublin, Co. Dublin) in March 2016.
3 stage process - I only got to stage 2
1st stage was a quick 20 minute screening phone call with HR. General chatting and questions about my previous work experience and why I applied for the position. Follow up e-mail to arrange next stage of process
2nd stage was a 45 minute Skype call (It's timed to cut out at 45 mins and only lasted 30 mins due to technical issues at the beginning)
Jumped straight into technical question on a designing and developing a product (no chit chat)
