I worked at Microsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Looks good on your resume, will give you a great visibility (you get contacted by recruiters after even 3/4 months)
    - Great products, great ressources,
    - New Building is amazing, lot of options

    Cons

    - Discrimination against vendors. I was sad to see that one of my vendor friends have been denied to attend an anti discrimination LGBT event, because it was for FTEs only, unbelievable.
    - Slow processes, even though its' changing.
    - Some managers are here only by acquaintances

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to high levels of management. Opportunities galore to get involved in all areas of accounting / finance. So many avenues to learn and grow your career. Looked after very well in terms of compensation, benefits and work life balance. Great levels of talent from diverse backgrounds all throughout Finance.

    Cons

I don't see it as a con but some people may - Come into the company ready to ramp up fast. There's a steep learning curve in your first 3-6 months so expect to work very hard while you learn it all.

    Advice to Management

Recruitment process takes a very long time and we can lose talented external candidates to other companies just due to the waiting stage

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great for the CV
    Nice new building
    Cheap food

    Cons

Managers spend their days in meetings. Double or triple booked.
Leadership team gives instructions, threatens local management publicly if they don't comply and then don't follow through. This sets a bad example for the dopey local managers.
Speaking of, the local dopes don't manage their people anyway, they neither know nor do they care. They are in the game for themselves and themselves only.

    Advice to Management

At this point there's no point in giving you any advise. You are there to advance your own careers at the cost of your people's futures in this great company. You are incredibly incompetent and our company lets you get away with it. Well done on that (credit where credit's due).

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Looks good on your CV and helps you find another job in a place where you are appreciated!

    Cons

Disappointing I would say, there are no internal career opportunities once you get in inside Sales, and no way of being promoted unless you know someone who knows someone. Couldn't be more disappointed by this company, working in Inside Sales is chaotic and disorganized, no structure at all, bias at its best as well among some teams. There is no point in looking at so many reports and taking actions that are not relevant. Micromanaging people instead of giving them freedom won't bring results either. The benefit of working from home is limited. There are so many growing opportunities in Microsoft Inside Sales that everyone leaves externally!

    Advice to Management

Ask yourselves why there are so many people leaving

    Pros

    great building
    great food hall
free fruits, coffee, tea and soft drinks
    facilities

    Cons

management without direction or capability to lead
bullying being tolerated by some managers

great bonuses for some, little bonuses for others
super-open plan for 2000 people which gives no privacy or chance to concentrate without noice-canceling cans
    missing the famous Microsoft culture

pay fair salaries that are the industry average
stop your campaign of lies and disinformation, the people are on to you
