Very less pay as compared to other tech giants.

  • Work From Home(18 comments)

Until the COVID-19 we had to ALWAYS justify why we wanted to do home office. Vendors are way more flexible than Microsoft in allowing that. Some days employees simply want to work and chill from home. Personally: I am way more productive when I do home office. Right now everybody is working from home and we all are happy chappies.

not good enough. We can't enjoy discounts from buying Surfaces, that is so frustrating. Only good for XBOX games and accesories purchases.

if you are on a S plan, RBI and CBI with the stocks are very good

Benefits package is perfect: -Stock awards -super good health care insurance -tuition funding -invite to major events (normally by a organising draws though) -CBI (annual bonus) depending on the contribution (this is a VERY subjective and controversial topic in Microsoft and the criteria are not transparent) -RBI (monthly bonus), depending on sales performance. Targets are relatively easy to attain and this benefit is generous. Worst thing: salaries are not changed accordingly to your degree of experience and contribution to the company. Less knoledgeable peers than me earn more annual base salary and there is no way I can change that except if I provide with a "special contribution" or project. There is one reason why people leave Microsoft only to come back after a year. They can simply attain a better career stage and salary if they leave the company. Forget about negotiating those while you're working for them. Second worst thing: employee discounts are HILARIOUS. So so so small! And we can't even have them to buy a surface. Only relatively good for XBOX games. Third worst thing: no free snacks, no free lunch. Only fruit.

No benefits whatsoever with Microsoft. Only reason to work for them is to have it on your CV. Would never go back.

Current Employee in Dublin, Co. Dublin

Two tier company, full time employees and contracts. Really poor atmosphere as contract workers are treated differently to full time employees.

Free healthcare. No free food though.
