Pros

The people are great here, but you can sense nobody wants to be here for long, for example telling people you work at Ventrica. The common response was, their turnover is so high (and we're not talking about financial turnover here)

Cons

This is an extension of a school environment, micro management is rife - but that's to be expected for minimum wage. If you're over 20 years of age, don't take the job, you're better than that. Paying for branded waterbottles is unbelievable. In my time there, there was a young lad who decided to do a number 2 in the urinal, of course he was escorted out the building and rightly sacked, but this would never happen anywhere else, as aforementioned its just like high school.

Working Remotely

Pros

Fantastic Team Manager, Very good Training Manager, above minimum wage, overtime available, remote working, regular breaks. Lots of upskilling and promotional opportunities. If you can survive the first six months you could have a job for life. Refreshing no-blame culture.

Cons

Minimum formal training it’s mainly on the job training, confusing instructions sometimes conflicting. You have to be able to think on your feet with minimum training or you will struggle. It seems to depend what contract you end up on. Some contracts are more stressful than others. Some contracts you have to work Xmas day so be prepared for that. Appears to have quite a high turnover,

Pros

Taught me the skills I needed (not through any support or training from Ventrica I should add) to be able to move on to a more successful career

Cons

Where do you start… for an advisor, the wage is at the minimum it can be yet they expect you to deliver as if they’re paying you a 6 figure salary. You could be the smartest, most capable person in the room but you will only get promoted if your face fits or you’re sleeping with upper management. If you have a campaign with commission, any excuse is made to not give you it - which leads nicely on to pay - it might happen on time, it might not! I’d always assume you’re not going to get paid on time. Despite having some lucrative campaigns over the Covid period, it’s made out that the business is broke so they do token events like an ice lolly day or pizza day - if you do really well you get a tree which obviously helps pay the bills! The managers that look like they’ve given up are the genuine ones, the “nice” ones that you feel you can share with will then broadcast that to everyone, especially their inner circle. My mental health was at an all time low after working here and it’s only after you leave you realise exactly how bad this place is to work - avoid it at all costs, you’re worth more

Pros

The people are all so nice. The work is challenging but enjoyable

Cons

They pride themselves in how they treat their employees but actually its all for show. Employees are all on minimum wage.

Pros

Remote working is currently an option, variety of shift patterns. Currently higher than minimum wage pay.

Cons

Remote working infrastructure is patchy at best, standard call centre work, very high expectations that are not discounted if you are remote due to systems not being as fast as 'in house' systems. Forcing people to return to the office

Pros

You get paid and it has a central location.

Cons

Treated like a child. Have to drink out of branded flasks and bottles. Little to no training and they seem to just promote people who are there at the time and even if you are promoted you have again, zero training. That's not only training for the job but you have to pick up the job as you go without being told what the company processes are etc. But the processes change every five seconds and it seems they only take an interest in the staff when something serious happens. Zero development as in you will never have performance reviews. I think I had 1 when I was there despite being there a long time and there is no plan to help you develop as an employee. The pay is terrible but minimum wage is marketing as 'competitive'. You could stack shelves in Lidl and get about £3 more an hour. The company bangs on about how rich they are and how well they are doing but have had one pay review in 5 years. Bullying is rife with people reporting the same person to HR multiple times but the bully seems to just keep getting promoted. It seems the nastier you are the better you do there. There's no plan for anything and as long as you're ok just turning up and being a drone you'll have an ok time. Also no reward for good work at all and it's all very whoever shouts the loudest in a toxic environment.
