Pros

Taught me the skills I needed (not through any support or training from Ventrica I should add) to be able to move on to a more successful career

Cons

Where do you start… for an advisor, the wage is at the minimum it can be yet they expect you to deliver as if they’re paying you a 6 figure salary. You could be the smartest, most capable person in the room but you will only get promoted if your face fits or you’re sleeping with upper management. If you have a campaign with commission, any excuse is made to not give you it - which leads nicely on to pay - it might happen on time, it might not! I’d always assume you’re not going to get paid on time. Despite having some lucrative campaigns over the Covid period, it’s made out that the business is broke so they do token events like an ice lolly day or pizza day - if you do really well you get a tree which obviously helps pay the bills! The managers that look like they’ve given up are the genuine ones, the “nice” ones that you feel you can share with will then broadcast that to everyone, especially their inner circle. My mental health was at an all time low after working here and it’s only after you leave you realise exactly how bad this place is to work - avoid it at all costs, you’re worth more

Pros

Fully remote work, which offers flexibility and eliminates commuting. The company provides structured training when starting the role, and the IT systems are generally well organised and easy to use.

Cons

Work management is handled by individuals who are familiar with the system, but they are often not adequately prepared to provide the level of support needed during periods of high demand and stress. As a result, employees may sometimes feel unsupported when workloads intensify. The system used to request holidays and time off is not always reliable, which can make it difficult for employees to plan their leave or organise personal time in advance. Although the role is fully remote, employees are expected to use their own equipment, which may require personal investment in computers, keyboards, and other necessary tools. The company places a very strong emphasis on performance targets and results, which can create a highly pressured working environment. Opportunities for professional development or career progression also appear to be limited. At times, the overall atmosphere can feel challenging, and there could be more focus on fostering a healthier and more supportive workplace culture. Additionally, the salary level is relatively low considering the demands of the role, and there is no clear rota system that fairly distributes time off during public holidays.
