Pros

Pay is good. Professional environment for the most part.

Cons

As a consultant at KPMG you can kiss your family, friends, and personal life goodbye. You are expected to work long hours and at times expected to do it for free even if you are an hourly consultant. Its ironic to see the many complaints from employees on this website because onsite they stand on a pedestal and look down on consultants. The sitting location for consultants has to be some kind of a code violation, they will stick 3 to 4 consultants into one cubicle, or worse put some folding tables in a poorly ventilated room and stick a bunch of people working elbow to elbow. I have more but you get the point, DO NOT work here as a consultant.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
