Pros

Learning curve is too steep in the initial days. People pursuing CA or qualified CA will have bright career. Can work for less than 4 hours a day in lean season. KPMG brand is well recognized in the market.

Cons

Will have to work to up to 16 hours a day in busy season, Must work for 12-13 hours a day for 4 months, without any overtime pay. Food provided for dinner is spoilt 1/3 of the time. Managers can't speak proper English and are ineffective motivator. Appraisal process is very prejudice. Salary hike for performers is very demotivating. Work and personal life balance is almost non existent.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
