Pros

Excellent colleagues create a fun, casual day-to-day environment that is about the only reason people choose to stay. Team members are understanding and kind, and foster a supportive environment focused on helping others get through tough times where management fails.

Cons

Huge turnover rate across all teams and extremely low salary in comparison to how much work is required, with staff being told they are easily replaced. Work goes underappreciated. Higher ups force staff to attend events where they can talk about how they bought a dream car or home, and talk about how great the company's doing and future plans while everyone else not in a leadership position is struggling with below average salaries. Telling staff they do not believe in flexibility, working from home, or any modern quality of life change that would improve general wellbeing. Leadership and management of the company felt more and more out of touch as time went on.

Pros

I guess they sell some cool stuff?

Cons

Well where do I start? This company is a sinking ship and management were just dropping like flies around me. District and operational managers were being made redundant after being with the company for 20+ years. Why? Because EB Games were losing SO much money, as they’re outdated, overpriced and cheap. They spent too much money on, well, basically crap, that they ended up losing $33 million for 2024. And do the higher ups take a pay cut? Absolutely not. They just cut from the bottom. Any hours for the stores are gone, management are left to not only serve customers (oh and you better believe they want that Disney over the top service while doing it) but also do every single operational task in a store, ALONE. We were left burnt out, depressed and overworked. Do yourself a favour, look elsewhere.

Pros

- Free games/loot if you are in the right team or know the right people.

Cons

- Constant micromanagement. - Everything needs to be done exactly how a director wants it, but the director doesn't know what they want until presented with your completed work. - Very low pay compared to industry standards. - There is a revolving door of middle management. In my years with the company the average time someone stayed in the position I reported to before they quit was 9 months. - Tendency to hire/promote people with little to no experience into key management roles to save on wages. - Goals, targets and performance reviews have little to nothing to do with pay reviews as they are decided by upper management months before these are undertaken.
