Pros

The only pro is that you get 4 days to your self

Cons

The pay is slightly higher than national minimum wage. But your still struggling pay check to pay check with long hours. A team that's more interested in making one person look bad so thier lazyness can't be picked up by management and off load their work as your job responsibilities. Your over worked with long hours.

This job nearly killed me

Pros

Reasonable pay, some nice team members, lovely residents

Cons

Work load and expectations are totally unreasonable and not realistic. Toxic management who cover up sub standard care. DICE tool is inappropriate and likely fomulated by an accountant not a clinician. Staffing ratios are appalling and not safe. Deputies are expected to do 3 or 4 peoples jobs and will be constantly ripped to shreds by upper management for minor issues. The documentation for clinical oversight is poorly structured and repetative. The current systems are not robust and when the system crashes.. which happens all the time, staff are then under even more pressure and scrutiny. Micromanagement from upper management is soul destroying. Salaried position but expected to work double the hours for the same pay and no TOIL due to short staffing. Zero work life balance.

Pros

I worked here as a nurse and there are definitely some positives. The pay is good, breaks are paid, and the team members are genuinely kind and supportive. The trainers are lovely and knowledgeable, and there’s usually a good supply of the materials and equipment needed to do the job.

Cons

The workload is far too heavy for just one nurse, making it difficult to provide safe and consistent care. Unfortunately, management doesn’t seem to listen when concerns are raised, and there’s little genuine support from leadership. There also appears to be some internal politics, with inexperienced people in key positions, while the knowledgeable and hardworking staff often feel overlooked or unheard. It’s a real shame because the home had great potential but without better management, fair workload distribution, and a culture that values staff feedback, it’s hard to stay motivated or deliver the best care possible.
