Pros

Good place to work if you are switching from Indian firm to Atkins. They provide decent salary package

Cons

There are lot of downside. The Senior management have no clue about people management. They don't scrutinize the attrition rate. No motivation to work .

Pros

Really great environment to work in. Respectful of your needs as an individual, lots of trust and opportunity to show yourself with senior management

Cons

Pay is on the low side. Most work is govt contracts so pay really isn’t a plus if you live in London.

Pros

- Excellent teams and people in the offices. - new office location amazing (but we have to pay for it) - pay improving to senior level people are very well paid. - great graduate scheme - still a marquee company to work for and have on your CV

Cons

- High pressure on productivity and being billable, no innovation or training - project types limited to low risk, high margin - high levels of systems and process not accounted for in productivity - huge levels of overhead and management who are not visible - unpaid overtime is not only expected but working contractual hours will damage your progress here. - empty words from senior management - poor handling of covid. - staff treated as a number - poor middle management pay where hours of work generally reach high numbers each week without any thanks

Pros

Interesting range of projects to be involved in nationally and locally in the West Midlands. Friendly colleagues at team-level.

Cons

Bad senior management with toxic workplace practices being normalised. Culture of not reporting issues. For example: - Practice-wide emails naming and shaming if your timesheet hasn't been completed on a Thursday. There are better ways to deal with this. If you've been off sick and haven't been able to complete your timesheet you still end up on 'the list'! - Intimidation of junior staff by a specific member of the senior management in PEC. At least 3 members of the team had the same experience. Verbally being on the receiving end of false accusations and receiving subtle threats about their progression within the company, yet framing these chats as being helpful for their learning and progression ('I'm doing this because I care' manipulation). Being blamed to cover up the mismanagement of their own time. Salaries are less competitive than other large consultancies.

Pros

-Comprehensive health insurance coverage. -That's it, basically.

Cons

-Favours managers who are more often than not technically out-of-depths to manage the professional staff and complex projects, leading to disastrous project deliveries and dismal morale. -And as a direct consequence, struggle to win well-remunerated projects and are stuck with leftovers thrown away by their competitors. -Which then leads to a vicious cycle of project leaders trying to hide the financial state of their projects from senior management. Senior project staff spend much of their business hours coming up with inventive ways to complete their weekly time sheets, than on solving engineering and design challenges. -The numerous drastic redundancies made to entire departments of the Asian offices are a direct reflection of the systemic problems aforementioned.
