Pros

There’s not much to say here.

Cons

There’s no chance for career growth here based on actual knowledge, skills or performance. You will watch management positions be quickly filled with directors friends from their old department, rather than any consideration be given for those on the team that built it from the ground up. Those newly appointed managers will then quickly dismantle all of the hard work put in over the years, due to lack of specific departmental workings, all while dismissing the most knowledgeable people in the room.

Pros

Great people to work for, flexible working environment, and a strong opportunity for career growth, including potential pathways to head office in Germany.

Cons

The organisation can be quite political internally, with area managers often placed on a pedestal and prioritised for director roles at head office. The Australian arm of the business also appears to be somewhat behind Germany in terms of culture and broader organisational approach.

Pros

Good fair pay but just because u get paid more than Coles and Woolies u have to do more physical jobs at Aldi u get paid $5 extra.

Cons

Always putting less employees on morning shift and same as evening shifts. If one person call in sick they are struggling with two people. Workload in the morning pretty intense and same goes to managers who run for morning shift , u have 5 double pallets of fresh produce and 5 double pallets of meat and u have two hours, if they can’t even run on their own they ask store assistant to help them which store assistant won’t get paid the same as they doing manager works . So people call in sick just because of workload instead of putting more people, they will give you performance reviews and you can’t even call in sick even though once a month they won’t like it. People got injured and that’s why they have free physical sessions.

Great managers that know how to create a united team. They provide constructive feedback and know how to comunicate. Great pay.

Cons

It can be intense work, especially during Christmas, but that’s the only downside.

Pros

Thinking hard to add here anything..

Cons

Super toxic environment and blame culture. "The door is always open" exists only on paper. When it comes to actual actions on management side, nothing changes. Speaking up and being honest can feel like a career-ending move. Salary is above the market, benefits used to be great but the company keeps cutting them (eg. no more free lunch and snack options, no free language courses etc). Managers in general have zero people management skills. Gaslighting and textbook-like micromanagement, unfair employee treatment, favoritism are part of every day life. People are burning out and leaving the manager(s), still this is a not a clear enough sign to their superiors that something is definitely wrong in the team and that things need to be changed. This happens also because toxicity recreates itself within the company: directors and top management have similar attitude and keep hiring similar dilettante managers. Directions are changing every week if not more often, it feels there is no strategy.
