I worked at ALDI full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great company to start at out of college and build a base knowledge with

    Cons

Down the road senior leadership will try to pin you into specific roles, with very little time to decide. Not the way you want to be treated over the course of a career.

Former Intern - District Manager Intern in Philadelphia, PA

I worked at ALDI for less than a year

    Pros

Autonomy, physical work is nice, many advancement opportunities, $$$$, car, cool people at store level. Hardworking employees

    Cons

At least in the Philly division, the culture absolutely sucked. I watched people cry on multiple occasions, managers condescend/deride their employees in front of others, gossiping, working ridiculous hours (I'm talking 14+ hour days at a freaking grocery store). There was talk from the get-go of which interns would "survive" and I heard rumors that people actually placed bets on this. Long story short, the culture was toxic, and the attitude was very much "we own you". You make amazing money though so many people tough it out for the paycheck. If you care about money and only money, this is the job for you! If you care about a supportive work environment, enjoying going to work every day and work/life balance this is not the job for you! I have heard that the culture differs depending on department, and many other interns really liked the job. I believe the problem stems top-down from the Philadelphia division management.

I worked at ALDI full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Compensation is great and they give you a car.

    Cons

they literally exploit you, make you feel like you don't know what your are doing and it doesn't matter the amount of hours you work a week (even if it is 80+) they still don't think that you are doing enough. They say they care about employees but they don't, not in the minimum.
