Software Architect – 12-Month Rolling Contract | Dublin (Hybrid / Remote)

We’re partnering with a major Irish organisation that’s investing heavily in its digital and cloud transformation. With business growth accelerating and new platforms being developed at scale, they’re seeking an experienced Software Architect to help shape the technical direction of multiple high-impact applications.

The Opportunity

This is a senior technical role within a modern architecture team, working closely with Solution Architects, Technical Architects, and Engineering squads. The focus is on building cloud-native, event-driven systems that are scalable, reliable, and well-designed from the ground up.

You’ll work in a dynamic environment where the technology decisions you make will influence some of the most visible digital services in the organisation.

What You’ll Do

• Design and evolve software architectures across multiple cloud-based applications.
• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Lead the definition and delivery of event-driven architectures, including Kafka and other messaging technologies.
• Shape API strategy and design for performance and scalability across a large user base.
• Provide technical direction to engineering teams – influencing, mentoring, and bringing credibility through strong hands-on understanding.
• Work across multiple modern environments (AWS, Java, integration services, mobile and web platforms).
• Help embed best practices and support continuous improvement within architecture and engineering.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong experience as a Software Architect in a large, modern technology environment.
• Deep understanding of AWS – certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience designing event-driven systems and high-volume APIs.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, ideally with experience in Java or similar languages.
• Ability to engage with engineers credibly – someone who can “sell” architectural vision through trust and understanding.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Location: Dublin (hybrid preferred; remote considered)
• Contract: 12-month rolling
• Interview Process: Two stages with senior members of the architecture leadership team
