I applied through other source. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Old Navy (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2012
Interview
I initially found the job as on Kijiji for a job fair type of thing - no scheduling required, you just show up for an on-the-spot interview. There was a line up of people waiting for a one-on-one interview with one of two managers sitting at a table. The interview lasted about 10 minutes, generously, but I'm pretty sure it was less than that. We went through the typical "Describe yourself", "Name a time that you had to think on your feet", etc. After this one-on-one interview, I was passed on to a veteran sales associate who had a clothing rack of clothes. He asked me to put together an outfit for a male going on a casual, movie date. He explained that they have a program where new employees are paired up for veteran employees to mentor and guide them (NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPENS), and that was it! Extremely easy interview. After I was done the in-person interview, they asked me to apply again online to fill out the personality test. I don't really remember the personality test, but I just answered very honestly and it seemed to work well. They called me about two days later and offered me the job over the phone with a starting salary of $10.75.
Interview was very professional and a portion was an introduction to the job’s tasks, which I thought was very helpful. Interview was in store and on the sales floor. Interviewer was very personable and friendly.
