I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's in Oct 2009
Interview
I applied online for both full time and part time sales associate positions. I received an email a week later to schedule an interview. I had the interview the following day with another person. The person who interviewed us was not the normal interviewer. She told us they were in training and that interviews weren't supposed to be scheduled at that time but they were. She went on to tell us that these were seasonal positions. I told her I didn't mind but that I thought it was permanent. She then asked if we were interested in a specialist position. I said I was but the other person couldn't because of her school schedule. She then told the other person she would keep her application and call her when something comes up. Then she told me that she should know by next week what she had available and someone would call me. The whole process was about 15 minutes.

Was interviewed for a seasonal position. Was told they have no seasonal positions, once they found out I was a college student. Made no sense to me quickly ended the interview.
The interview process was straightforward and fairly quick. It started with a phone interview from a recruiter or hiring representative who asked general questions about my background, availability, and interest in the role. The tone was professional but conversational, and the interviewer focused on making sure I could handle a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
I had one interview with the store manager and it lasted for about 45 minutes. The interview was all standard behavioral questions. I was offered the job on the spot.
