The interview was structured as follows:
(1) Online Application: The application was pretty straight-forward. Fill in all your personal details and upload attachments. Make sure to draft your answer for "Why do you think you are a good fit for H&M?" well. Goes a long way!
(2) Online Assessment: Actually pretty easy. There was a verbal, numerical, logical and email management.
(3) Phone Interview: Basic questions. More about getting to know you personally and finding out about your experience and determining if you are a good fit for the company.
(4) Assessment Center: Fly to Stockholm for a personal assessment. Usually a group of 15 people. The day starts with a intro about the company and the program. We then have a group case study (usually with 3 people) which involves solving mini cases both individually and as a group. They prefer people to have a more consulting style approach to solving the cases which I felt was awkward. I just used my sensibilities to solve cases and if I didn't understand the case, I told them that I couldn't solve it. You also have a personal interview with a HR person who asks about the languages you are fluent in, 3 strengths, any people who inspire you, flexibility, salary expectations, etc. I guess being Scandinavian, they expect people to be bit more poker faced and expressionless which was the other extreme for me, since I use expressions and gestures more often.
The process ideally would involve one last interview with Senior managers for those who are successful in the assessment center.
One thing I hated was the compensation for our travel expenses that took them almost 4 months to transfer. And the ridiculous excuse that they gave simply put me off - they said that they forgot all about it!
