I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gap (New York, NY) in Mar 2013
Interview
Relatively easy. Asked a few questions and filled out form with background check. they were focused on my personality and ability to care for the customers. Besides that it was relatively traditional interview for me.

Basic. Not prep required. It was a good experience and was put at ease quickly. All they want to check is that you can communicate well and that you have a demonstrated work ethic.
I applied online. I interviewed at Gap (Calgary, AB)
Interview
It was very easygoing, not too complicated questions from the employer. They did ask what would make me stand out as a salesperson and what I could bring to the table in sales .
