tl;dr -- Experience was great, assessment and offer horrible
The hiring process I thought was pretty great in the sense of how quickly they proceed. Week 1 on Wednesday I received an email to schedule a time to talk for Friday. Friday I talked with the recruiter and scheduled a time for an assessment on experience on Monday with an IT manager. Wednesday was the good news for scheduling a confirmation interview, which basically means you get the job. That's all great and all.
BUT THE PROBLEM
The Java assessment was only based on what you have experienced, and not what you actually know. You might have wide technical knowledge aside from Java, but it's tough to show that. And it's tough to show your ability to learn or want to learn. Basically my assessment turned out to be "you're experienced and we'll start you at Senior Analyst" and the pay was way way way way lower than acceptable for the amount of experience I have.
