  • After 17 years at SAP, Bill McDermott is stepping down from his position as CEO. In activating its long-term succession plan, Jennifer Morgan and Christian Klein have been appointed Co-CEOs, effective immediately, with the approval of the Supervisory Board. Bill will remain in an advisory capacity until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

    As they have already demonstrated, Jennifer Morgan and Christian Klein complement each other perfectly and will be strong Co-CEOs, a leadership model that is time-tested at SAP with multiple prior instances of success.

    They both bring decades of experience in the enterprise applications software industry and serve on the company’s Executive Board. Jennifer Morgan was most recently President of SAP’s Cloud Business Group while Christian Klein was Chief Operating Officer.

GIRLSmart4Tech is a program designed to encourage young girls to explore their interest in STEM subjects which started in SAP Galway & Dublin in 2014 with huge success. We've chosen to target this program at primary school girls because we believe that the earlier we can tackle the stereotypes surrounding careers and study in STEM, the better! SAP has been way ahead in terms of realizing the importance of inspiring young girls to explore technology. A recent campaign, RedrawTheBalance, showed that children as young as five already perceive that certain jobs are for men, and a study by National Rail has shown that girls as young as nine may already believe that engineering is not for them, and we want to change that! Before they think about careers, before they choose leaving cert subjects, long before college looms, we want to show them the amazing opportunity and diversity that exists in the STEM field, and demonstrate that there is a place for them. SAP Galway & Dublin has attended 6 schools in 2018, spoke with 176 students alongside 32 volunteers as part of GIRLSmart4tech with more planned for the future.

SAP’s Business Women's Network (BWN) is an employee-driven network that provides opportunities for women to share their professional insight, support each other, and influence SAP on diversity and inclusion topics. Key objectives are to:

iXp Internships at SAP Ireland
We believe that internships are more than just a name on a resume. They’re a chance to shape your network, try new things, fail forward and discover a career beyond the norm. SAP iXp seeks to disrupt the internship stereotype by allowing university students the space to create and follow their passions with meaningful work. iXp offers a curriculum based approach to learning which compliments the meaningful work our interns do which impacts our business, offering our interns one cohesive Internship Experience!

CoOperative Learning @SAP Ireland

 The SAP Ireland CoOp program is a unique offering for Irish technology students enrolled in level 8 degree courses. Built on the German model of dual-education, the CoOp program aims to develop students personally, professionally and technically at undergraduate level. The program allows students combine their academic studies with industry experience at SAP the leading Enterprise Software company. Students rotate between academic and practical phases allowing them to put their experiences in both to immediate use. Students are supported financially throughout the program, with paid practical phases and extra financial support during their academic phases. Additional benefits include the use of an SAP laptop, access to SAP education and training offerings and the potential to do international placements at other SAP locations. Globally SAP support over 1000 students in this program and successfully hire 75% of all students that complete their studies.  CoOp is a program that invests early in undergraduate students for long term return for SAP and the students themselves.

We support the accelerated growth of social enterprises that approach the world’s most pressing societal challenges with innovative business models. We offer pro bono volunteering programs, enterprise technology solutions, and financial support for social and entrepreneurial enterprises in mature and emerging markets.

As SAP, we know that the fundamental means for people to fulfill their potential is through education. That’s why we proudly support innovative educational initiatives that help young people pursue science, IT or entrepreneurial careers, even providing free education and employment opportunities in developing regions such as Africa and Brazil.

Additionally, every October, SAP embarks on its signature corporate volunteer initiative – Month of Service – where you’ll have the chance to use your personal and professional skills for your community’s needs.

The SAP Ireland Green Team are a group of passionate employees who drive green & sustainable awareness, events and campaigns at SAP Ireland (Dublin and Galway). The Green Team aim to support SAP’s sustainable strategy and commit to the SAP & UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The team have specific areas of interest and focus such as E-Car, Cycling, Recycling and Bio-Diversity (e.g. bee-keeping, beach cleans) and endeavour to drive initiatives and awareness around their focus areas on a mostly volunteer basis. The Green Team also welcome ideas from colleagues who wish to drive once off initiatives such as the “Plastic Free Challenge 2018” and will endeavour to support them in any way possible.

Two recent large-scale initiatives in SAP Ireland were the launch of the SAP TwoGo carpooling service/app and an Electric Vehicle event. These initiatives aimed to reduce our Carbon Footprint and support SAP’s Corporate Objective to go Carbon Neutral by 2025.

    I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at SAP (Dublin, Co. Dublin).


    Was phoned a few days after submitting my CV online and asked if I could come in for an interview two days from then, which was a bit short notice. I was interviewed by two people, one drove the majority of the interview, and was quite friendly. I was grilled on almost every aspect of my CV, with specific focus on my projects, and was also asked to use the whiteboard to demonstrate some answers.
