Office leaders and department heads can be petty and immature. Some are only there because they’ve been there for a long time

pay is low for cost of living, leadership don't have incentive apart from making profit, lots of bureaucracy, experience is very specialized and not helpful professionally over the long term.

Terrible management. It’s like working back in the 1980’s. This office has a very defined seating hierarchy - management near windows - staff in the back. No real office culture. It gets tiresome to hear your supervisor talk about his ex-girlfriends and women in his life. Lots of inappropriate jokes with his junior staff. Director thinks he’s the solution but his ego is too inflated to understand he is the problem. Strong “macho” culture. Inflexible work hours. Unrealistic - sometimes made-up deadlines. No real local projects. This office mainly supports the region.

Intense work environment and heavy work load

Limited ability to move up or to improve skill sets other than learning from each project.
