Pros

The HO team all shared a common goal. They are eager when they come in - but soon lose their innovation as CEO shuts down ideas.

Cons

CEO yells and leads others through fear - an outdated management style Pay for a buyer, assistant, the designer is 1/2 of the industry - you don't know this until you seek out other jobs. No pay raises. *unless you are about to quit* No flex work schedule - set workday schedule. If you need to leave to pick up your kids - you are made to feel guilty. The moral is very low...due to such high turnover - people cannot work in such a hostile environment. CEO likes to publically humiliate you in front of all your co-workers. Management talks negatively about you to others - but then to your face does the same thing talks negatively about others

Pros

Lots of structure and routines make it easy to learn how to run a fast-paced store and over years of practice I could almost do it on my own with very little direction. upper management check in regularly to keep you on track. Lots of opportunities for advancement as I was promoted 4 times while working for Bluenotes

Cons

Although I did receive promotions and special acknowledgement, I had to constantly be telling my District Manager how well I was doing in order to get raises and promotions. "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" in this case. it would be nice to have someone higher up reward you with a raise without asking for it. Once you've reached a manager level, there is very little room for career growth unless you live in the GTA where their head office is located and different types of positions are available.
