Pros

Most of the frontline employees are incredible. Truly some of the most talented and hardworking people I’ve ever met. There used to be a sense that SE hired the best of the best — and it showed. There’s also a unique respect between sales + support that you don’t always see at other companies. A lot of us ended up bonding over the chaos, which helped keep things bearable.

Cons

Leadership loves to say they “want people to speak up,” but when people actually do, nothing really changes. My time there started strong, but after a poor leadership hire, a few messy acquisitions, and then another even worse sales leadership hire… things went downhill fast. The company feels like it’s crumbling — over 150 people (out of ~1,000) have quit this year alone, and that number is still climbing. There have been many HR reports about members of the sales leadership team: bullying, racial slurs, pressure to drink, comments like “just put it on your personal credit card to hit quota,” inappropriate videos, and straight-up sexism. The “solution” has basically been HR sitting in on sales calls — which has turned into a running joke (“behave, HR’s here”), rather than anything meaningful. Outside of sales, the cash management team is another major pain point. Constant turnover in their leadership has created friction everywhere. Teams that rely on them are burned out from the lack of collaboration, follow-through, and consistent direction.

-Resources and support are constantly available - The culture is incredible -Management cares about us as people and truly wants the best for us

-Can be a bit of a tough job mentally, but the community and support there is amazing

Pros

Flywheel with purpose, meaning and values People who care about their work and others

Cons

Recent buzz word filled marketing post on joining sales here shows a very different environment to the reality where it is not people powered unless its favorite people powered. Failure isn’t celebrated like the vice president says in the video. You’re labelled a camper or quitter and dismissed into a number. Dont believe the shiny veneer, understand why sales reps and others have left and why you shouldnt join a sinking company and decayed sales team

Pros

Culture, pay, training, fun environment. I think this is a great company to start a sales career in. There is pressure to succeed, but not a cut throat environment if you’re struggling. Put in the effort to grow and learn, management cares a lot about their employees and wants to help as much as possible. Occasional team and department outings which keeps things fun. The current training process is amazing and I haven’t seen any new hires struggle out of the gate with the trainings they provide. 10/10 from my perspective on that front. Making commission is why I say the pay is a pro. Your effort and input will directly impact how much money you can make. If you work hard, you can make an honest pay. If you have a bad month, your salary will keep you afloat. You don’t fully depend on commission for this job to support you financially like other commission based positions.

Cons

Industry, sales in general, amount of growth opportunities. IT industry is oversaturated which makes conducting sales a bit difficult. Sales is also not an “easy” job. If you’re able to overcome the mental stress of hitting quota and growing pipeline, this is not a con. Growth opportunities is something the company talks about a lot in recruiting and onboarding. There used to be a lot of growth opportunities, but that has slimmed down in light of recent changes. This is a “con” that the company is working on correcting, but has not gone live or presented solutions on as of me writing this. I would not let this discourage anyone interested in looking at this company or department as it’s only a current issue. I wholeheartedly believe this is something they have plans to improve.

Pros

If you want arrogant sales leadership and a phoney corrupt HR team that doesn’t protect employees and submits fake positive reviews when they know how damaging the real negative reviews are then this is your place!

Cons

HR must know the reviews on specific leadership folk are real and has gone into blatant damage control mode by submitting fake positive reviews themselves whilst replying to other comments to make themselves look good. It is obvious to everyone who looks which makes it even more shameful and dishonorable.
