Pros

The company was great many years ago,but now it is going down the hill.

Cons

The manager in East coast has no experience in management, very difficult to work. Not qualified to be a manager. He has a set of eye watching you all the times. Beware work for this company.

Pros

provide company car that you can drive for free.

Cons

Inexperience regional manager watch you like a hawk. Stressful on the job. Send you to do work that you know nothing about the equipment. Toxic company to work for. The worst regional manager that I ever had. Yon don't get an appreciation phone call if you leave tomorrow. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY.

Thank you for your feedback. We are currently soliciting feedback from the Field Service Technicians in Interviews, and are planning on adding programs and perks to help FSTs feel more included. We do work to promote from within, and are continually developing our management. We understand that during COVID, the FST position was paid a full salary but only had to work much less than 40 hours at times. Now that we have additional business, we are asking our technicians to work a full-time schedule. I wish you the best in the future.

Going downhill

Pros

The people in my department were great, that was it.

Cons

Scantron was at its prime when it was the hottest technology decades ago. Still finding other ways to be profitable , but now it’s a sinking ship internally. PE takeover in the last couple years and it’s never been the same since from what I understand. Many of the managers have an impressive tenure, but I have seen a lot of them go in a short amount of time Unbridled CEO full of hot air who excessively recycles executives, and drains the life out of managers with their erratic and illogical demands. Executives are continuously replaced until the right henchman is found. I was only there less than a year and got caught in the process of rabid reorg, apparently purging every department, and bringing in a new team to “fix it” without any understanding of what the problems are and what work is involved . Total communication blackout among senior managers and executives at a surprising level. A ton of contracting overseas to supplement workforce all across the business. There have been employee surveys introduced but they refuse to share the results of them , citing they have to protect employee anonymity, which is a straight up lie , as pretty much every other company in the world who does this is transparent about the general results and stats . Huge red flag right there. So many red flags in general.

Pros

If your region allows it, this position is very flexible. If you get a good manager, this job feels like you are your own boss. An extreme wide variety of equipment to work on. You will be a jack of all trades, master of none. You will always have something new to learn. Company car and gas provided.

Cons

Again, depending on your region, the wide variety of equipment is sometimes overwhelming. Too often you will be expected to work on something you've never seen before. You'll be lucky if you're handed the service manual and told good luck. Some equipment has bad documentation, no training available, and no technical support. If you don't mind being a warm body with a toolbag, then this job is perfect for you. Very rarely is there a feeling of accomplishment.

Horrible Management

Pros

You get to manage your own territory

Cons

Management takes forever to hire employees. You end up covering multiple areas your entire career with no extra compensation. You are doing twice the work for the same salary. Once covered an area that was open for 18 months! Almost two years it took the manager to hire someone....management is the worst.

I'm sorry that you don't believe you had a good experience. I know with the Field Service Technician position, employees are paid overtime for their work over 40 in a week. I'm afraid I cannot find a requisition open for 18 months; however, we are also always improving, as well as improving hiring timelines. Best of luck to you in the future.

Pros

Good pay. Work isn't too difficult

Cons

Try to get to know your possible manager as best you can prior to accepting the position. If you see a red flag... Trust yourself. There are MANY issues with Scantron/Secur-Serv but most are manageable with a decent manager. Otherwise there's is a high potential for disaster. Lots of turnover reflects this. Could be a decent place to with some changes and if you get lucky enough to live in an area with a manager you can work with. Workload can be stressful at times.
