Pros

You get to manage your own territory

Cons

Management takes forever to hire employees. You end up covering multiple areas your entire career with no extra compensation. You are doing twice the work for the same salary. Once covered an area that was open for 18 months! Almost two years it took the manager to hire someone....management is the worst.

I'm sorry that you don't believe you had a good experience. I know with the Field Service Technician position, employees are paid overtime for their work over 40 in a week. I'm afraid I cannot find a requisition open for 18 months; however, we are also always improving, as well as improving hiring timelines. Best of luck to you in the future.

Pros

prior to the pandemic, Scanron made decisions to best move the company forward. Executive management cared about their employees.

Cons

In Dec 2019 Scantron was sold to a private equity organization that was planning on helping with foward vision and growth. The majority of the profit/revenue for Scantron was based on schools and education and with the Pandemic schools no longer needed paper forms, so the company was faced with stuggles to maintain revenue.

Pros

I worked for Scantron on two different occasions in two different locations. In 2021, I worked for them in Midland, TX. After only 5 months of employment, I had to take a leave of absence to be a caregiver to my 90 year-old mother in what turned out to be her final months of life. This required me to relocate to a different part of the state and they did not have an open position for me to return to in that are at the time that my leave was to end. Fast forward a little over a year later, they had an opening in my area, and gladly took me back because I left on good terms and for good reason the first time. That was good of them to do that.

Cons

Some in upper management seemed as if they could not say "no" to new business and it created an environment where we were expected to cram 16 hours worth of work into an 8 hour day and OT was not allowed. Unless you were on-call for one account that demanded after hours availability. This was two hours in the evening through the week and 8 hours on Saturday for 18 hours total, or $90. That amounts to $5/hour. I won't portend to speak for any other techs, but my personal after hours time is worth more than that. A lot more.
