Pros

The seasonal, hired-on team members of the time of my employment were very nice and made the time spent enjoyable. Customer experience was pleasant, not too many unpleasant experiences. Freedom of dress code, pay was decent.

Cons

There is an evidence of favoritism or suspicions involvement with specific employees and it leads to the improper treatment to others, may it be other employees or customers. Lack of leadership skills, false ethical values, location, crew members; all cons. Hours provided in a sloppy manner, meaning variable and unpredictable work schedules. Zero accountability held to upper management for wrongdoings.

Pros

Excellent inclusive company culture, employee discount, learning about natural ingredients for skincare, genuinely great and engaged team members, flexible work schedule for part time or casual positions.

Cons

High amount of work, unreasonable "evidence driven" feedback and coaching models, and unrealistic performance metrics for comically low pay, especially for floor coordinators. No additional pay given for specialty roles, which is many enhanced responsibilities over a specific area of the business, and little opportunity for career growth beyond the sales floor unless you are hired from an external management position. Floor Coordinator seems to be the highest rung most people can hit before being driven elsewhere.

Pros

Great discount and perks, good training, and overall "good vibes" day-to-day. This was never a job I dreaded going to. I also appreciated that they pre-scheduled our breaks and stuck to them, no matter how busy we were. Work/life balance was good. They pay a bit more than other similar retail stores. The company takes a stand on political issues, and that is a huge PRO for me. It's very rare.

Cons

The expectations for the pay was VERY high. It is very hard to bonus, as upper management sets goals that are very hard to achieve. The company boasts hiring from within, but that is not the case. Loyal employees were consistently passed over for outside hires. I also noticed that Lush likes to boast being inclusive of all personality types and people, but there is definitely a certain type of personality that gets more praise. The sales tactics and techniques they want you to use are pretty intense. This is an environment where there is constant feedback, so if you are sensitive to feeling critiqued it can be really hard. Near the end of my time here, Lush discontinued a ton of stuff without providing a good replacement. This led to upset customers, and that was a huge challenge.

Pros

Diverse and fun place to work can truly be so great with a good team Flexible hours and good pay compared to most retail jobs

Cons

The environment prioritizes extreme friendliness over professionalism and lacks a balance both staff and customers get too comfortable . Store management delegates blindly based on corporate feedback.
