Pros

I left earlier in the year and worked for Gattaca for a number of years in Group Support. The people are brilliant, there are some fantastic individuals in the business who are great at what they do and passionate about the business. Everyone is nice and friendly. Also great socials throughout the year, which are always a highlight! Good benefits. You will have a great experience, if you work in Sales.

Cons

- Group Support staff are not valued by senior management. The business says Group Support are, by including them on certain Sales incentives and the annual staff awards, but management actions and comments throughout the course of a year say otherwise. - Career progression can be possible for Group Support, but the pay does not justify the amount of work and effort required for a promotion. The business has also had flat performance for a number of years now, which has meant no salary reviews or increases (not even inflation). However Sales still get their commissions, so that side of the business remains unaffected. Never has there been a stronger "us & them" divide. HR apparently undertake annual "salary benchmarking" though I think that just justifies what "good value" their Group Support staff are vs what the market is actually paying for those roles. - As mentioned above, the people in the business are great, but we are losing a lot of the best ones. This is not the people orientated business it once was. Gattaca lost it's way after the Networkers acquisition - something that should have been a very exciting time for everyone - but it has been scrambling to get back on form ever since.

There is a lot in here that we can agree on; the people at Gattaca are great, and everyone here is nice, friendly and passionate about what they do. It’s because of this that people work hard, both sales and Group Support. We do have some great benefits, and our socials are fun and welcomed by many. We disagree that Group Support are not valued by senior management. So much has been done in recent years to demonstrate this; introduction of Group Support specific Awards (which now happen three times per year), ad hoc team incentives and events to recognise achievement, dedicated budget for managers to award team members on a ‘spot award’ basis. Business performance has been flat in the past few years, but we do have an Improvement Plan in place and as you’ve alluded to there are many passionate employees keen to work towards this plan and get us back to growth. All individuals are encouraged to put forward suggestions and get involved in decisions. And, if they are a little shy at coming forward with these, we have the anonymous ‘Have your say’ engagement survey. We will be pushing this tool more over the coming months.

Awful career progression, individual's skills overlooked in favour of external contractors, numerous attempts to introduce new working practices and systems have been confusing and ineffective

Unfortunately poor management decisions resulted in: Office closures No growth No career progression No real identity

Great culture, Opportunity to get training whenever you need it and the opportunity to learn from people who have been in the business long term

I am pleased to read that you feel we have a great culture here at Gattaca and that the training was readily accessible, as well as having experts on-hand to support. I appreciate that the business is moving at pace at the moment to implement our transformation plan, while sometimes change can feel unsettling, we are doing our very best to keep colleagues fully up to take with the changes that are happening (for example our recently published 'fast forward' document) and the reasons for those changes; all of which we believe will help propel Gattaca's future success. The old CEO was stuck in the 80's but the new CEO and CFO are great

Pros

Friendly people, nice place to work - diversity criteria is being worked upon.

Cons

Not the most flexible in terms of working from home, commission structure isn’t the best and takes a long time to see career progression.

Thank you for your review. Some really positive comments. We do operate a hybrid approach to work and if you feel you aren't getting the support you need do reach out to your line manager. We also have a new performance management structure which looks to enable progression for all. So watch this space!

I have worked with Gattaca for over 3 years and have truly enjoyed my time with the business, and hope there are many more years to come! I have achieved progression whilst with the business, and have always known what my next target is in order to achieve a promotion. The office atmosphere and working environment is great, and the company do well when it comes to arranging social events and business incentives. It is a very exciting time to be with the business, and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me and my career. - Obvious and clear career progression - Continuous and effective training as and when necessary - Growing and fun business to work for - Good social environment - The work you put in doesn't go unnoticed - Exciting plan for growth moving forward - Fantastic rewards, commission and work incentives - Doesn't oversell - honest about what you can achieve within the business

Cons

- The business is definitely becoming more flexible, however it could allow more remote working for those that require it - More acknowledgement or incentive for those that focus on new business/ business development

It’s great to read about your experience to date at Gattaca and that you’re continuing to progress and work towards open promotion targets. You’re absolutely right, we do a lot with our social events and incentives and this is an important part of our culture. We’re always looking at suggestions here too, so feel free to drop me a line if you have some ideas. It’s good to hear that you’re benefiting from the more flexible working arrangements. Over the past 5 years, we’ve increased the number of working patterns (including part time working), have a number of people who work from home now and introduced flexible start and finish times earlier this year. Our technology is improving which will allow more remote working, and whilst this doesn’t necessarily suit all roles in the company, we continue to encourage conversations between managers and employees on this. We would welcome any ideas you have on incentives for new business/business development. Feel free to come and speak to me, or indeed any of the leadership team.
