Pros
I have been working at Wayfair for several years now and have changed several teams and departments. I have had amazing managers and great mentors over this time (this highly depends on the team you are in) . I have seen how Wayfair has evolved during these years and it is very impressive to see where we are now. I really appreciate how we are being supported during the wfh period with additional freedom and benefits (including free meetings with mental health professionals). Some additional points: - opportunity to innovate and be an owner - opportunity to learn and grow in your career, if you are the one driving it and don't wait on someone to simply give it to you - opportunity to move internally and try out new areas of interest - good benefits and salary for Berlin - work with some very inspiring leaders and peers
Cons
Very fast paced which is not for everybody. I have to also backup the many reviews about hiring consultants to lead large teams. This does not necessary always work out, as they lack the people management skills and overall don't really fit to the Wayfair culture. This of course does not apply to all, we have some great leads who come from this industry, but it is a hiring strategy the leadership could think about reviewing. A bigger point here is the lack of benefits for parents which at this stage of company development and its size, It is absolutely necessary.
