CPD promotion system is a farce, Salary completely tied to it, nobody truly knows whats required to climb the ranks, inconsistent managers make efforts to rise up the ladder a nightmare, as one manager will lay out X things to achieve for raise, but then you swap, and new manager doesn't agree with those X things and tells you to now do Y things instead and now the last 3-4 months of efforts were pointless and just free beneficial extra responsibility you undertook for the company with no reward for yourself.
