I have been working at Version 1 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

High growth business which means career opportunities for all employees - Top 5 in Great Place to Work consistently , Core Values focused and despite growth rate, flat management structure remains so opportunity for all to make an impact.

    Cons

    BREXIT may have impact

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Version 1 full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

With rapid growth comes lots of opportunity - thats not something you will find in many organisations. If you feel you have expertise and ambition which is not being harnessed then Version 1 is the place to look for your next career move. I made that decision just over 5 years ago and havent looked back !

    Cons

Having a customer base across Ireland and the UK can mean a lot of travel at key periods in tbe year

    Advice to Management

Keep striving to "build something special" at Version 1 - belonging to a company that does things differently and just doesnt follow others is a real differentiator to both employees and customers.

    Pros

    - CPD framework is beneficial
    - Good bonus structure
    - Middle Management are good

    Cons

    - Upper Management seems to not understand their employees
    - Growth isn’t being managed well
    - Pay is well below market rates in my experience
    - Expected to do 2 - 3 hours of unpaid evening work a week outside of “client hours”
    - Inconsistent and fragmented experience across the company and no focus on rectifying this

    Advice to Management

The people make V1 what it is, treat them as such

I have been working at Version 1 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to move around to different companies if you're not happy with the client you're working with.

Buzz Events are pretty good, depending who is the Buzz manager.

Very approachable people, they seem to hire people with decent soft skills.

Line Managers are all very involved, regular 1:1 meetings.

Core values and principles are actually well thought out and useful.

    Cons

    Salary is woeful.

Benefits are also not great, quarterly profit share isn't worth much.

No options to work from home (Depending possibly on client).

Value add pressure can be over the top.

Working in consultancy can be isolating.

    Advice to Management

Nobody likes to hear it, but salary should be looked into.

    Pros

Flexible . Anything you want to do you can get involved in - but you need to show progress which is not a bad thing. Dublin Office right in city centre which is excellent. Suits me for career after many years both in and out of head office

    Cons

Office needs a revamp so theres that

I worked at Version 1 full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The Recruitment team seem to select some very good people to hire. The employees really live the customer first and excellence core values.

Diverse range of customer sites is possible.

    Cons

Can seem to just be a body shop, with consultants shipped out to the next highest bidder.

There is little up-skilling for senior consultants, and when you are on customer sites - you remain there. Total "Us and Them" difference between customer based consultants and office based ones. On-site consultants are neglected in terms of promotions and engagement.

Local Engagement Officers and Capabilities are theories bandied about - but do not function.

CPD is a broken mechanism for development and salary increases.

    Advice to Management

Remember that your brand is not all the fancy logos in head office - its the care and dedication of the consultants who represent you on the customer sites. Do not forget to engage them and make sure they see the true Version 1 that you believe in.
