Pros

They hire great people so you’ll have friends to complain about your job with. If you are really good at your job they pay well, especially in the outside sales role. They have also increased pay in other roles as well (but that’s mostly because they can’t keep people from quitting. $1 medical insurance.

Cons

Everything else. First of all, 90% of the perks you’ll hear about are only for Oklahoma employees. This review is for all other offices and a compilation of multiple people who have left as they are too scared to write their own reviews. Yes that’s right, people have been threatened and others so emotionally raw they just want to leave Paycom behind and try to pick up the pieces of their lives. I’m a hard worker so i was always successful and even then i was always miserable here. They have zero trust of their employees. They lie when you interview so you get caught up and then once you start it doesn’t take long to start realizing all the promises they make are lies. In my time there I saw insane turnover like I’m talking an entire office will be 90% new employees (less than a year) at any given time. That’s across multiple roles. The clients notice this too. It’s one of the complaints i would get most often. Every few months metrics and rules change which i actually didn’t mind as much as other things but it can be frustrating especially once you know what works for you and your clients but are forced to change just to see numbers plummet nationwide. Very high stress. You either gain or lose a ton of weight working here, depends on how stress affects you. A lot of crying happens here and I have known multiple people need therapy after leaving. They totally mess you up mentally, it feels like an abusive relationship. The management doesn’t care about anyone but themselves and the people above them which will eventually lead to them self destruct as there are zero big picture thinkers ,only followers. They will try to scam you on commissions and try to manipulate you in to giving others your commissions based on policies that don’t exist. After you leave they will not pay you your earned commissions either. I could go on for days but overall, if you have never worked anywhere and are fresh out of college it might be a good fit because you won’t know better, otherwise run run run run run.

We’re sorry to see your experience at Paycom wasn’t more positive. We understand that the demands of our sales positions will not be a good fit for everyone. Our current growth and vigorous dedication to innovation and improvement may result in employees feeling outside of their comfort zone. While we have high expectations of our employees, we also have higher expectation for our managers and actively seek to support and develop their management skills. We will share your feedback with the leadership team and wish you well.

Pros

Get to meet new people every day, the environment and culture is amazing, and I am always welcomed wherever I go!

Cons

Stressful getting the hang of things. Took a couple months. Very worth sticking around because there is great potential to move up.

Pros

- Base salary - PTO - Awesome colleagues - $1 Medical PPO offering

Cons

- Upper leadership seem to not value the operations department as much as they do with sales. They are not consistent as well, which causes them to change the entire department's job description, expectations, & commission structure every few months. Change is good but huge change every 3-4 months is so exhausting. - They overload you with too many clients to handle while increasing the number of internal calls. When asking for support from sales or middle management, its typically a hard negotiation or non-existent. Expect to work way over 40 hours/week and juggle 10-20+ clients at a time. - Sales will oversell on product & implementation expectation which makes the job 1000% harder. Turnover with sales is extremely high so don't expect for even the best reps stay as they either leave, get fired because quota was not met, or the new manager will cut them if they're "not the vibe". You get left with the newbies who does not know how to sell or support you when you need them. - Every role in this company has high turnover in general. Making it very hard to cross collaborate with other departments as everyone is either extremely swamped or new to the role and cannot support as well, - Being forced to go to Oklahoma for training every year, sometimes twice a year.
