Pros

I joined HubSpot right out of college and I really feel like I've grown incredibly fast as a result of the company growing incredibly fast. From day one, I've been given huge responsibility and a network and room full of bright, helpful people who make it easy to succeed. Our execs are dedicated to making this whole thing happen and it shows- they're extremely appreciative of employees and in touch with the challenges at a high and detailed level. There really is a special culture that comes from that example, and the fact that we treat culture like a first class citizen and prioritize making this an amazing place to work. There's a ton of freedom to take something and run with it and a constant feeling that what you're working on is part of a larger, impactful mission. And, I know everyone everywhere says this but the work/life balance here really is unmatched. I really don't feel like I need to answer to anyone or justify why I got in at 11 instead or 9- that trust just makes for a more comfortable environment.

Cons

There's always more to do and more to learn. That can be good and motivating, but sometimes a little intimidating.

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
