Pros

Good training programs Friendly colleagues Decent career progression ( if you intend to stay long and not overly fixated on pay )

Cons

Poor culture. Culture has shifted ever since new management has taken over. Culture has shifted from being an actual great place to work to a transactional robotic environment where there are measures in place by the executive leadership team to squeeze all life out of you with little to no care for your well being. Executive management does not care at all about staff satisfaction and are instead focused on saving money and cutting costs constantly. This led to HAYS making a huge number of consultants redundant without much prior notice. Former directors who had 18+ years of experience with the company and who were instrumental in making HAYS a fantastic place to work, was also cut and shown the door. Pay is underwhelming at higher levels. Hays does not incentivise loyalty and tenure. Most times, you get offered a minimal increase after a promotion which leads to anyone good being headhunted or being pushed out of the door. Very high turnover. Anyone decent or good have been leaving as there's not longevity present at HAYS anymore. 85% of recruitment companies pay you more at higher levels and offer more competitive benefits. Hays has become a revolving door and a stepping stone for recruiters. Hardly anyone decent intends to stay. This is due to the culture set by the next executive team.

Pros

Great place for new recruiters to gain experience. A lot to learn. Younger crowd, fun teams.

Cons

Competitive, people that weren't succeeding would be put on PIPs and eventually let go. Can be some micro-managing. Not all managers created equal - some great, some not so great.
