At this location you get to learn a ton about customer service from a leader who has spent a lifetime at that store. Someone who understands how to assist the customers with their needs and help them find a solution that is within their budget and needs spectrum.
Cons
The corporate teams who manage the merchandising are always trying to find the next gimmick to pick up sales in a channel that other automotive retailers currently have share in. But it takes away from the core of what we do. Stop trying to push the add on sales that are not part of the core. Our job is to consult the customer on anything that we notice during inspections. It is not to reach for every dollar we can by selling non service related items from the show room. Consult and advise. Leave the decision to the customer, making them aware you are there to help now and in the future. The trust comes from the consulting. Stop basing the compensation on pushing the sales and start thinking more about customer retention through positive consults.
