I have been working at Goodyear full-time

    Pros

Most established rubber and tire company in the world.

    Cons

Veteran managers and yes men are heavily pampered and issues swept under the rug. Regardless of P&L results, long hours no responses from direct management after 5pm.. Being treated like a slave, lots of vacation time lost without pay out options.

    Advice to Management

The old saying goes "you can't always teach an old dog new tricks"..

I worked at Goodyear full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company Vehicle, Benefits, Government Contracts Established, Book of Potential Business, Proposal Builder Software

    Cons

Incompetent Executive and Regional Management, Unrealistic Expectations of Sales Reps, No Sales Leadership Exists and there is No Effective Marketing, Shrinking Market Share, No Expense Account and you're deterred from spending money on customers, Lack of Economical Products for Customers, Marginal Customer Loyalty except with Government and Municipality Business,

    Advice to Management

Take you tie and penny-loafers off and actually make some calls in the field with your sales reps or you could actually do what sales managers and executives do and actually disseminate worthwhile information to your sales team about potential upcoming deals, mergers, market analysis, and things of that nature instead of the ridiculous and ignorant emails about the blimp and things that no one but corporate folks care about. You can also try hiring people with experience to be your FSSM's instead of kids out of college who have never done sales in their life and putting them in charge of people who have been sales managers for almost a decade? You know, practical business practices for success. Your Intranet has decade old information on it and is abysmal to your employees.
