Tendency towards promoting "nice people that manage up" -but not necessarily the most competent individuals. Highly political culture, difficult to navigate for people that didn't "grow up at General Mills"
Painfully slow to act. Management uncomfortable making decisions and constantly seeks consensus which often paralyzes forward momentum.
Compensation is below industry average which used to be offset by job security, upward mobility, and other non-salary benefits -which is no longer the case and now we are just plain underpaid.
Job titles are out of sync with the rest of industry (title deflation) which gives us less respect both with our customers and in the job marketplace despite our performance and responsibilities.
Recent round of layoffs has provided mid-level employees with little hope for continued upward mobility.
