Advice to Management
To try and help your employees more to get a job that helps out there situation. What I mean is like in a transfer of jobs.
I applied online. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Golden Valley, MN (US)) in February 2016.
I applied online and I was contacted a few days later for two 20 minutes phone interviews. I was later emailed to schedule an interview at the General Mills James Ford Bell Technical Center in Golden Valley, MN on Monday February 22, 2016. I met with the recruiting managers, the reliability manager and 3 team leads as well as a technologist. The whole interview took about 2.5 hrs including a tour of the plant. I really enjoyed the meeting and got to know more about the position. All the interviewers were very professional and very informative. The interview consisted of primarily behavioral questions about my prior work experiences. At the end of each interview, I had the opportunity to ask questions.
Annette Frawley works in our Law dept. as senior counsel, intellectual property. She says: “I wanted to work for Betty Crocker at the age of nine. I didn’t realize at the time that Betty Crocker was a fictional character, but I knew the products with her name on them meant quality and were quite often present on the table during meals, family holidays, birthdays, etc. I remember the day I told my mom I had been hired at General Mills; she reminded me of what I had said as a kid. My instincts about the company at age nine weren’t wrong. I love working at General Mills with teams and individuals who care so much about each other and the consumers they serve. And who are so passionate about quality, innovation, the environment, engaging with those who choose our products and with those who do not choose our products, the farmers in our supply chain, giving back, making a difference in communities of various shapes and sizes. I love being able to still feel a connection to my farm roots. I am humbled by the caring, talented people I am so lucky to work alongside of each and every day."
