- Most team members I've worked with don't take pride in their work - Directors and leaders often make decisions without consulting their teams, and then expect the team to execute on their commitments - Discourse is usually based on making other people happy instead of making the best engineering decision - Bugs, especially performance bugs, often go unfixed - Leadership often has no concept of how to test products well or what kind of talent to hire to make that possible - Most people only want to do the minimum amount of work to make their manager happy - Will underpay labor if they can get away with it, especially outside the US
