Pros

- Competitive starting salary - Nice company car (company pays for gas and maintenance) - Great leadership skill development opportunity

Cons

- Everyone within a division is exactly the same, so if you ever act outside of the majority-norm you are looked at as a disturbance to company culture (that and everyone within my division literally looked the same too) - They will claim to be decentralized but then scold you for reaching out to your direct leader over things they deem "trivial", and if your direct leader has something to communicate with you personally they will ask someone more tenured than you to relay the message instead of just speaking to you directly - The company culture reminds me of high school - everyone talks badly about one another but ten seconds later will preach about being an "Aldi Family" - always willing to help one another (fake) - The peer advisor system is not set up to best help the new hires, but instead to be most convenient for the more tenured DM staff. Since the turnover rate is not the best, many of the new hires are being "mentored" by people fresh out of training or on the opposite end of the spectrum - too tenured to care - Integrity seems like an optional leadership trait to have, as many DM's will lie to 'save face' or lie on another person to boost their own rapport with their direct leader. Many will lie to store staff during the hiring process to secure staff members - Your off days will never be your actual off days, you are always on call and you are always at the mercy of the staff at your stores. Someone doesn't show up and you are off and there's no one else willing to work - prepare to go work as a store associate. Your competitive salary is essentially an excuse to work you until burnout - The DM leaders are often unprofessional and immature - getting drunk at company social gatherings and not holding themselves to a professional dress code at all times - If you are a person of color, prepare to participate in "optional" recruiting events ... I don't even care to explain that further, you know why. - The DM's are constantly talking about their store managers and associates behind their backs, but then again the store staff is doing the same things because - that the company culture - Many DM's are biased without even realizing it and (of course, since everyone is the same) no one is ever properly called out. Many biased comments were made in the Unconscious bias training sessions and the directors leading the groups said nothing
