Pros

My coworkers were funny and my boss was actually a good person. I can't speak for other managers here though... The pay is decent. It's a living wage, not a thriving wage. It does not compensate for the amount of stress you will go through here. You can pay your bills with the hourly pay but its not enough to save money on. Or enough to do anything out of the mundane with. Benefits are offered but at a bare minimum rate. It wont cover anything, high deductible. Some nice people but the culture is really just for people who went to a party school.

Cons

If you are not raking in serious amounts of money for this company you will be a ghost. You won't get to participate in any of the fun activities. You will stay late at work. You won't get to use the scarce amount of vacation time you have. Except to put a lot of energy into "shouting out" your partners and be their best friend despite how much you dislike them as people. If you aren't getting leads then its your fault. You will be accused of always doing something wrong here. God forbid you leave for a day, you'll come back to ten fires to put out. You will work yourself to the bone without receiving any recognition for your efforts, because unless its making this company money nothing you do matters. The schedule is 8am-5pm because there's an unpaid lunch break. They want you to work a full 8 hours non stop. They schedule your day making sure each second is booked with something. They track your each and every move throughout the day. Because God forbid they trust their employees at all. They also allowed an openly sexist boss to harass and bully employees to work there for 9 years. You are contracted to work for them for at least a year or you must pay your licensing fees back. This equates to thousands of dollars and no they do not ever tell you this before being hired. Associates feel so pressured and desperate to make their quotas that they resort to signing client docs. Forget about advancement. They will dangle non sales roles in front of you for years before ever making that transition. So many associates have told me how depressed and obsolete this company makes them feel. I hope people wake up and realize there are better jobs with higher pay and better benefits out there. This is not worth it.

Pros

Resume Gold! Having the name on your resume opens doors because people know you can survive a high-volume, high-complexity environment. That’s where the benefits end.

Cons

Pay: It’s a joke. They expect specialized, expert-level work and deep tax knowledge for a base salary that is way below the market. They use the big name as an excuse to underpay you. Work/Life Balance: You are never truly off. To hit the impossible quotas, people are forced to work off the clock just to keep up. Management knows this is the only way the work gets done, but they look the other way so they don't have to address the workload. Management: They are manipulative and not leaders. Instead of helping with the workload, they use moving goalposts and vague promises of growth to keep you running. There is no advocacy for employees. Make sure to get everything in writing. Some get amnesia. Quantity over Quality: It’s a sweatshop for data. You’re forced to rush through complex setups just to hit a Go-Live count to appease Sales. Accuracy is key, but it often takes a backseat to volume, which is a nightmare for anyone who cares about doing the job right. No Room to Grow: There is no real way to move up. ADP is a lateral move company, and that’s only if your management doesn’t stand in your way and prevent you from leaving for another internal team.
