Initial contact with recruiter was via email and was a Gcal invite for a phone screen, I had to have it rescheduled as the time offered didn't work for me (recruiter did not reach out prior to this to identify a convenient time). On the day of the phone screen, the recruiter was 15+ minutes late in calling and then was calling from her mobile in a cave as the sound quality was terrible. After about 20 minutes, she set up a phone screen with the hiring manager. Phone screen with the hiring manager was fairly routine, mostly asking about my relevant experience and clarifying a few points from my resume. I sent follow up thank you emails to both the recruiter and the hiring manager, no response. Three weeks later I followed up with the recruiter again to see if the position was still open. A few days later I got an email to schedule an on-site interview. Back and forth with two other interview coordinators over a couple of days and it was scheduled. Interview itself was smooth (although first interviewer was about 10 minutes late) and I met with the hiring manager and two attorneys from cross functional teams. I thought it went well and there were no left field questions and it generally felt more like a conversation instead of the usual question and answer session. I followed up with thank you emails to the hiring manager the next day, no response. Three weeks later I followed up with both the recruiter and the hiring manager to see if the position had been filled and to reiterate my interest, no response. A month since the interview and I still haven't heard anything and the role is no longer showing on their careers page. I know that recruiters are often pressed for time and the hiring manager was definitely swamped but a one sentence email to indicate the role wasn't available would have been nice.
