I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2019
Interview
I had a 15 minute phone interview with the internal recruiter and then a 30 minute call with a Manager. Both of them felt extremely dry like they were just shuffling me along. The 30 minute call with the manager was particularly strange. He didn't ask me a single question other than "why do I want the job?" He must not have liked my answer because he cut the interview short 15 minutes. It was weird. Things I was told in the first interview about the position were different coming from the managers mouth. I was told first that it was a sales role and then by the manager that it was not.

(2) Then Interview with team manager.
(3) Mock scenario : Prior to this 3rd round, we were given a mock scenario, details on the "issue" and what the assignment was. During the actual interview we role played as if the interview was the client. We had to create a presentation on how we would pitch a renegotiation with a "client".

Question 1
How would you respond to a client saying our commission rate is too high compared to competitors in the industry?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Uber (New York, NY) in May 2025
Interview
Applied via LinkedIn, and was quickly emailed to set up a call with their recruiter. Had a weirdly dry call with her, in which she let me know that either this position or another open position would be a good match for my skills, and that she would follow up with me. About 30 minutes later, I got an automated email from Uber, thanking me for applying, but ultimately telling me that they are pursuing other candidates. It was bizarre and rude for the recruiter to trigger this email instead of just explaining this to me in our email thread, and would be the baseline respectful thing to do (if providing feedback is asking too much).
