Where to begin. The recruiter appeared to have done little to no preparation before the conversation. At one point it genuinely felt like my resume had either not been read at all or had been confused with someone else’s. I understand recruiting is busy work, but a quick glance at the candidate’s background before the call would have gone a long way.
After the conversation, I was told I would hear back within a few days. Days passed, then weeks. Multiple follow-ups later, still no response. Apparently “we’ll get back to you soon” is interpreted here in the geological sense of time.
One other curious observation: the same role seems to be reposted again and again. Perhaps the company is searching for a unicorn, perhaps the hiring process simply restarts every few weeks, or perhaps it’s just easier to repost than communicate with candidates.
