Other Quantitative Analyst interview reviews for USAA
HR reached out around 1 month after I submitted application. 1 HR screening, then 2 rounds of manager interviews, 1 panel interview, span 1 month. HR is kind of slow, but the team is nice.
I applied online. I interviewed at USAA in Aug 2017
Interview
1 phone interview with recruiter 30 min. Then scheduled for a phone interview with two team members simultaneously. One team member showed up ten minutes late, did not introduce herself, interrupted an answer in progress with "what on your resume qualifies you for this job"? Shifted gears and answered. She then followed up on part of my answer with "Can you give me an example of that?". Answered. Not a word from this person rest of interview. 15 more minutes pass and at end of interview I individually thank team person "on time" and then team person "late". Uncomfortable silence follows. Team person on time explains that team person late has already left the room. Complete contempt for the interviewee as I realize team person late walked out without a word after her 2nd question. (Experience tells me she had another agenda for hiring for this position before my interview took place and didn't intend to waste time or energy doing an actual interview)
I happen to be a veteran and it is sick irony with how this interview was conducted. Neither of the interviewers were veterans and it appears USAAs employee base has a thinly veiled contempt for veterans despite their mission statement.
