I worked at USAA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits like amazing 401k match, good yearly bonus, good medical insurance, and good support of their employees

    Cons

Salary is low because of the focus on benefits. From a tech perspective, it's a slow moving financial behemoth. It takes forever to get anything done. The administrative overhead is unreal, so from a tech perspective actually doing technical work is a small portion of the job. The focus now is on compliance, so it really is pulling teeth to get anything done.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at USAA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

USAA offers benefits next to none! Overall they are a fantastic company. It is a ridiculously fast-paced environment. Metric based performance expectations.

    Cons

USAA has switched from a SERVE the member model to a SELL everything you can to the member model right now. If you don't make the sales, you're going to get written up. Doesn't matter if a mom with 15 kids is at the dealership trying to get insurance on a passenger van, you better sell her a valuable personal property policy and ask her why she doesn't have her home owner's insurance with USAA.
