      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at USAA (Boerne, TX) in Dec 2018

      Interview

The whole process itself took about a month. I first applied around thanksgiving. The day after I applied I received an email to take an assessment. This was very thorough, from phone skills to personal life questions. Answer these honestly as it is designed to trick you. The assessment took about 45 mins. A few days later I received an email from a recruiter to set up a phone interview. A week later l had the phone interview with a recruiter who would become my main point of contact. It lasted about 25 mins and we went over the basics of the position, possible salary, expectations. After answering a few questions a manager in person interview was scheduled for two weeks out. I interviewed with two ppl, hiring manager and another person. This last for 45 mins and we went over the goals of the job, benefits, etc... the questions were mostly behavioral based questions. Follow STAR method. A role play situation was also conducted and you get amazing feedback after. The day after I received a call from my recruiter about a contingent offer and submitting to a background check/drug test. This process took about two weeks and they check everything, from credit to education. Ended up receiving a final offer. Overall the experience was good, everyone I spoke to was very nice and professional. The process itself is a bit time consuming and makes you check everyday to see if you get a response but it was worth it.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at USAA in Sept 2018

      Interview

I applied online and got an email to do a long assessment that including testing typing and roleplaying as if you're working in a call center. About a week or so, I got a call to schedule a phone interview. A really nice gentleman who's a veteran interviewed me although he wasn't the person named in the email that was supposed to interview me. He asked questions about my previous work experience and we chatted like friends. He told me the salary and benefits. Then said a hiring manager would interview me in person later. I get another call to schedule another interview that I was told was going to be in person, but this lady said it's actually going to be over the phone. She also tells me to study the STAR method and sends me a study guide with practice questions. That's scary. The hiring manager interviews me by asking 3 questions and at the end, there's a roleplay scenario where I had to try to sell her a phone. After that's over, she said she'll make a hiring decision and someone else will give me a call if I got the job. If not, I'll get an email.

Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer and how did you get them to see things your way.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at USAA (Phoenix, AZ) in May 2017

      Interview

Applied online, sent email within 48 hours by a contracted recruiter. If they are interested you will receive a link to take an online assessment. If you pass that there will be an interview scheduled by phone. If you do well on the first phone interview, you will receive a second phone interview. If you do well on that interview, there will be a background check and then a job offer. My background check took a LONG time even though there is nothing out of the ordinary in my background. It was a couple weeks shy of 90 days from application to hire date.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

No ingenuity here, all STAR based questions. Also, sell the recruiter a product.
